Cortisol

Cortisol levels change throughout the day; being highest in the morning and lower in the evening. This test is used to assess the functioning of the adrenal glands. It is used in the diagnosis of diseases, such as Addisons disease and Cushings disease which affect the amount of cortisol produced by adrenal glands.
